The Entrepreneur Who
Keeps Trying
I'm not the smartest entrepreneur you'll meet, but I'm probably the one who's tried the most things. Over 25 years, I've consistently chosen action over analysis—and that's exactly what I teach through FSTEP.
"Most people aren't held back by lack of knowledge or opportunity. They're held back by the moment of hesitation before taking uncertain action."
The Unlikely Path
From software developer to serial entrepreneur—a journey defined by willingness to act despite uncertainty.
Software Developer → VP Marketing
Started coding because I was good with computers. But when I saw problems that needed solving, I couldn't help but try. This willingness to take on projects others avoided led me from developer to VP of Marketing in about three years at a traditional company.
First Social Network
Built a social network that grew to 750,000 members before Facebook made it obsolete overnight. Expensive lesson about market timing, but invaluable experience in building and scaling.
Daylight Automation
Co-founded and ran FormHero (later Daylight Automation) for seven years. Successfully sold to Quadient in 2023. Learned that consistent action beats perfect planning.
FSTEP Initiative
Currently building my 5th business while teaching these action-taking principles. You get real-time insights, not theoretical advice from someone who retired.
Why I'm Qualified to Teach Action-Taking
Current Practice, Not Past Glory
I'm not a retired entrepreneur sharing what worked 20 years ago. I'm actively building my 5th business while teaching these principles. You get real-time insights from someone currently in the arena.
Pattern Recognition Across Contexts
25 years of taking action in different industries and roles has shown me what's universal: the skills that make entrepreneurs successful accelerate anyone's career.
Learning From Failure and Success
I've made every mistake you can make when building something new. But I've also experienced what happens when you embrace early action—and that's what I teach.
The FSTEP Approach: Action-First Learning
Why Entrepreneurial Actions Work
Entrepreneurs can't succeed by committee or endless planning. They have to share unfinished work, ask for help from strangers, make offers before they feel ready, and act on opportunities before all information is available.
These actions feel uncomfortable at first, but they're the fastest way to build confidence because they create evidence that you can handle uncertainty.
Real-World Proof: The principles I teach aren't theoretical—I practice them daily while building FSTEP. Whether testing new approaches, experimenting with content, or trying different ways to connect with people, I consistently choose action over analysis.
Beyond Business
I live in Toronto with my family, who keep me grounded and remind me that business success isn't the only measure of a life well-lived. My kids have grown up seeing that it's normal to try things, adjust when they don't work, and try again.
That's probably the most important entrepreneurial skill I could model for them—and it's at the heart of what FSTEP teaches.
Current Focus
These days, I'm focused on FSTEP because I've seen too many capable people stay stuck in planning mode when they could be making progress through action.
I'm building this program while teaching it, practicing what I preach, and learning alongside the people who join.
Ready to Build Your Action-Taking Confidence?
I can't promise you'll achieve any specific outcome. But I can promise you'll experience what it's like to take action despite uncertainty, and you'll have evidence that you can handle more than you think.
That evidence changes everything.
